Departure from Stockholm, Arlanda at approx 13:10, arrival in St. Petersburg about one hour later, at approx 16:35. Our local Swedish speaking guide will meet you at the airport and you will depart the hotel where the guide will assist with the check in. (English speaking guide is additional)
After breakfast we will leave the hotel for a city tour. Among other sites, we will pass Peter & Paul fortress, the Winter Palace and the other four buildings of the Hermitage Museum, the Palace Square, the Admiralty, St Isaac’s cathedral, the old Senate building and the
19th century Church on Spilled Blood. The tour will end at lunchtime and lunch will be served at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon we will continue with the tour at the Hermitage Museum, where we will see selected parts of enormous collections of the museum.
The tour starts in the Winter Palace where the Ambassador’s staircase will lead you to the second floor. This was the official entrance for those who were invited to the tsar. You will pass several magnificent halls before you reach the invaluable art collections. Here you can study one of the world’s most prominent collections of Rembrandt, Rubens, Da Vinci and the French impressionists.
There is a wide selection of restaurants in St. Petersburg from traditional Russian to a variety of international cuisine to choose for dinner. If you do not choose one of the hotels restaurants which are easily attainable.
The whole day is at your own disposal. The main avenue Nevskij Prospect is 4.5 km long, starts at the Admiralty and offers a wide range of shops, department stores, bars and restaurants.
Don’t miss the big department store Gostinij Dvor where you will find both modern shops and old Russian ones. Around Gostinji Dvor and Grand Hotel Europa you will find many restaurants where you can have lunch.
About 150 meters from Grand Hotel Europa, you will find the Russian Museum. Here you will find old and modern Russian art, some which was forbidden during the Soviet era.
Saturday afternoon - Peterhof (additional)
Peter the Great started building his summer palace Peterhof in 1714, but the magnificent palace got its current design during the reign of empress Elizabet and the great Italian architect Bartolomeo Rastrelli. We will visit many of the fantastic halls
and from May to September we can also see the impressive Grand Cascade in front of the castle. This enormous construction symbolises Peter’s great victory over the Swedish king Charles XII at Poltava in today’s Ukraine, in 1709.
Time: 5-6 hours.
Price: approx 1.100:- p.p. incl. transport, guiding in Swedish, entrance to the park and the palace and lunch.

The choice of theatre plays and concerts is vast. The Mariinsky Theatre (former Kirov Theatre) and the Musorgskij Theatre offers both opera and ballet. Folklore performances are offered daily – these performances are lively and colourful and very popular. In St Petersburg there is also a permanent circus (during summer it is held in a tent). We recommend pre-ordering of the tickets.
We leave St Petersburg in the morning to the airport.
